Australian interstate quarantine laws!
We DO NOT send plants to NT, WA or TAS. This is due to Quarantine and biosecurity laws between states and territories.
To prevent the spread of pest and diseases, SA, NT, WA & TAS have strict Quarantine laws in place to prevent or limit certain plants entering their borders. It’s extremely important that these Quarantine laws are followed!
Breaking Australia’s quarantine laws is a CRIME! It can lead to fines or a criminal record.
Just one example:
The Australian Myrtaceae family of plants, including eucalypts, tea tree and paperbark, have the potential to catch a disease called myrtle rust (Puccinia psidii). Therefore, all plants from the Myrtaceae family, are prohibited in South Australia (SA). However, other varieties are allowed in SA.
